The last week of October every year, the Uppsala Short Film Festival takes place, screening 300 short films of all genres and up to 40 minutes, in 4 cinemas over the course of 7 days. The festival also presents a wide range of film seminars, talks, lectures, workshops, etc. The festival was founded in 1982 and is the foremost short film festival in Sweden. As the main arena for international short film in Sweden, the festival is recognised by The Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences, The European Film Academy and BAFTA.
