ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
KALIBER35 Munich International Short Film Festival takes place since 2006 in the Bavarian capital of Munich, Germany. The International Competition showcases 35 short films from all over the world, all Bavarian premieres, presented in 5 categories named after and inspired by the five tastes SWEET, SOUR, BITTER, SALTY and UMAMI. The Festival also includes the KURZ&KNAPP (SHORT&TIGHT) Kinosportcup, where filmmakers are challenged to write, shoot, edit and complete a short film in just 35 hours.
COMPETITIONS & AWARDS
International Competition: 35 short films of all genres from any country in the world, all exclusively Bavarian premieres and without German dialogues. The films are presented in the five categories SWEET, SALTY, SOUR, BITTER and UMAMI and all of them compete for the Audience Award.
KURZ&KNAPP (SHORT&TIGHT) Kinosportcup: short films up to 5 minutes in length, based on three keywords released by the Festival and produced over the course of 35 hours (from the idea to the completion). The winning film is chosen by a jury of industry professionals.
