Internationale Kurzfilmtage Winterthur

The Internationale Kurzfilmtage Winterthur is Switzerland’s most important short film festival. The festival enjoys an excellent reputation among filmmakers, the industry and audiences alike.
The festival takes place each year in November and attracts an average of 16,000 spectators for our national and international competitions, as well as 650 participants from the film industry.
Kurzfilmtage is a non-profit association committed to recognizing and developing short film by supporting artists in cinema and building audiences for shorts. By compiling innovative programs, its aim is to provide a lively international platform for professional exchange between filmmakers, artists, the industry and the audience. Kurzfilmtage maintaining the largest short film archive in Switzerland, containing about 30.000 short films. The archive is available to industry professionals for research purposes all year round.
In 2013, 16,500 spectators visited the festival and we received over 5.000 submissions for the national and international competitions, which offer cash awards that total in 42.000 CHF (35.000 Euro) and an in-kind award of 11.500 CHF (9.500 Euro).
